Shelby Whalen's Yin Yoga Review
by Shelby Whalen
I discovered Travis Eliot on YouTube and have enjoyed doing his sequences. As a new teacher and lover of this style of yoga ( I got my 200 YTT around Thanksgiving of 2016) I've immersed myself in every book, dvd and video I can find. I started teaching yin right around X-mas - at the studio where I did my training and at a rehab facility - Yin workshops and teacher training are hard to come by in Phoenix even though yin classes are offered at a variety of studios. This training really opened my eyes in terms of the kinds of sequences and postures (standing postures before the floor work for instance) that you can do. I found the Science of Yin extremely valuable - a lot of people who do yang forms of yoga don't realize the benefits of this style. Travis has the perfect manner about him - deliberate, calm and steady delivery of the message. As mentioned in teaching tips it's important to know the perfect mix of talking and silence.
I really liked that I could do this immersion on my schedule as I have another full time job. I would highly recommend this course.

Wonderful online Yin course!!
by Heather Mahler
What a wonderful Yin Yoga immersion course! I appreciate that it was affordable, that I was able to complete the modules on my time, as well as being able to add the hours to my continuing education with Yoga Alliance. Yin is so relevant and flexible, it can be used by itself or woven into other styles. I would recommend this course to anyone interested in Yin Yoga, whether you're a student looking to add to your personal practice, or a seasoned teacher wanting to expand your teaching styles. I've been studying and teaching Yin yoga for a few years now, so a lot of this was more of a refresher. That being said, I'm always grateful to learn from another teachers perspective, and I truly feel like I gained some valuable insight to this practice that I love so much. Thank you, Travis, for sharing your passion and your knowledge!!

Travis' Yin Yoga program was exactly what I was hoping for it to be - a solid introduction to Yin yoga inclusive of the science, history, and asanas. The online program was well thought out and easy to navigate. There were no hang ups or crashes during my extended two week schedule rather than one. Thanks to the leisurely, self paced method you could go through the entire immersive course in one week or, like myself, spread it out to meet your personal life needs. In my case, I did the lecture on night one followed by the class the following night where I could apply what I learned from the lecture. Going back and forth gave me a bit more insight into what was happening during each pose without having to rush through the course material. This worked great with work and family life. Overall, no disappointments whatsoever and all praise for a wonderful course taught in a format that today's lifestyle demands. Way to go Travis!! Looking forward to your next class!
7 Day Review
by Ryan McNeace
I thought the training was very nice. It was well presented and made me try all of the practices. yin is something I need to compliment my power yoga practice and was very pleased with the results. I think from trying all the different ones I knew which ones I gravitated towards and liked versus some that I did not enjoy as much. Im very tight in my leg and lower body area so I tended to gravitate towards more of those practices. All in all I think it was very well organized and the information that we had gotten was well above what I had expected
Happy with Yin
by Phelia Arlitt
The course was well laid out and I liked how there was a short but effective theoretical lesson and then a practical yin class that followed. The manual is helpful and the pictures are great because they are large and clear and perfect to refer to in class. I also liked the 7 days but how they could also be spread out depending on life schedules. The only suggestion I have is that perhaps there could be a section in the manual about counter poses. I very much enjoyed the course!

I really enjoyed the Yin Yoga Training. It was very informative, and well laid out. I also feel like I got a lot out of doing 7 days of Yin in a row. Very worthwhile, and I highly recommend. I look forward to the 5 bonus classes now too, though I'll sprinkle those in with my power yoga classes.

Yin yoga 7 days immersion

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to do the 7 days Yin Yoga immersion training on line from Switzerland.
I enjoyed every single minute of each day's Programme. I especially like your way of teaching, telling stories, giving helpful explanations, but also leaving room for silence. You are my inspiration as a yoga teacher.
the Programms themselves are excellent and I will also use them in my lessons. Thank you for sharing your experience also for yogis from abroad 😌
Yin and Tonic

Excellent and no-kidding-around course which genuinely opened up the body and mind. Doing 7 days straight convinced me to add more yin to my weekly practice--I'm now going from one yin session a week to every-other-day, as recommended. It kicks things up a notch. The manual and lectures were well laid out, well illustrated, succinct and to the point and the information, especially the "science of yin," was extremely helpful. Travis Eliot's yoga is beautifully timed and sequenced--these classes are no exception.
